In order to achieve this mission Creative Commons is involved in various efforts to promote the sharing of knowledge including:
- Providing Creative Commons Licenses and public domain tools in order to give everyone worldwide a free, simple, and standard way to grant copyright permissions for creative and academic works, ensure proper attribution, and give others the ability to copy, distribute, or make use of those works.
- Work with institutions and governments to create, adopt, and implement open licensing and to ensure proper use of CC licenses and CC licensed content
- Support the CC Global Network
- Develop technology like CC search
- Offer the Creative Commons Certificate
- Produce the CC Summit
