Citation Styles

There are several different citation styles or formats that are used at Cairn University. 

The styles used are listed below:

  • MLA: Modern Language Association style is most commonly used for undergraduate work.
  • APA: American Psychological Association style is recommended for graduate studies.
  • Chicago/Turabian style is most commonly used in graduate work in the humanities.
  • SBL: Society of Biblical Literature style is most commonly used within Biblical Theological Studies.

If you do not know which format to use, check your syllabus or ask your professor.
