What if I need access to a print resource?

On Campus

One or two chapters or limited pages can be scanned and sent to you as PDF. Request scans at: https://lib.cairn.edu/docdel

If you need a physical item (book, DVD, etc.), not available as an eresource, the library staff will work to deliver the items to your campus mailbox and/or dorm room. Please fill out the request a book to be shipped at: https://lib.cairn.edu/book_ups and use your mail box number and dorm room for the mailing address.

Distance/Off-Campus Students

The library staff is pleased to offer limited shipping of print materials not available as an e-resource.

Shipping is available to Cairn students living in the contiguous United States.

How long will it take to receive the book to an off-campus address?

Books are being shipped once per business day.  All items are shipped UPS 2-day. 


How can I access electronic resources while off campus?

Ensure you are logged in to your Cairn Gmail account.  You may do this through your regular browser or a privacy browser.

Search for e-resources by title on the Library website and/or utilize database searches.

To ensure you can go back to your resource, be sure to use the permalink, NOT the URL in the search bar.
